how freaking hard does a car have to hit a power pole to snap it off up by the top?

1951 Sepulveda Blvd, South of Mulholland Drive, the driver said she was doing 35 mph, and fell asleep at the wheel. Busted arm, pelvis, and scrapes, and probably was ok after she got out of the hospital.

About 20 years ago a car hit a pole across the road from our house in the early hours of the morning. We went back to sleep thinking nothing of it. It wasn't until we got up in the morning that we realised that the impact had torn the power wires off the side of the house, which is more than 50 years from the road, and there is another pole between the one that was hit and the house.
