1912 Simplex touring body J.M. Quinby

the windshield, being flexible, seems to be a recent creation... but would they allow it at the Pebble Beach Concours? I doubt it. But nothing was mentioned about it, because Murphy's Law realized it was the only thing I wanted to know

  1. Although isinglass windshields can be period correct, I'm not certain whether this car was originally equipped with one. Regardless, it was a period accessory, so it's possible.

    1. Clear Vinyl (ISINGLASS-«)
      Commonly spelled "eisenglass"
Clear PVC with plasticizer to make it flexible. Thanks! I've never heard of it before!

  2. Jesse, there used to be a guy locally in the Tampa Bay area who had a 1910 Hamblett touring car. It was the only one built before the company failed. That car had a very similar eisenglass windscreen on it claimed to have been original

    1. well I'll be, I had no idea the stuff was invented so long ago! Thanks! Quite astonishing that they'd made a good fake glass over a hundred years ago
