in the crazy "we can do anything with a car" era after WW2, someone made a driver through liquor store... at least, until the exhaust got to them, remember, it was leaded, and without catalytic converters, gross polluting

  1. There was one of these in Ann Arbor Mich in the late 80s. For all I know it may still be there.

  2. We had "drive thru" liquor stores in Wayne County Ohio growing up (1980s). I lived for a short period of time outside Akron OH in 1996 and they had a whole chain of gas stations that had drive thru convenience stores. I just checked Google maps and the one that I remember is still there (I think it had a different name back then). Here's a link in Google street view of it: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.1396038,-81.5280683,3a,75y,343.58h,95.2t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sZmQC_xmEvvZVGRWCWALc1w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

    2. My town of Fremont, Ohio has at least 5 drive-thru convenience stores. You can't buy hard liquor, but you can buy beer.
