70's skateboards from the Sears, JC Penney, or Montgomery Ward catalog

  1. Too funny. I had the rainbow board I purchased from Sears circa 1977. I really wanted the cool Santa Cruz board from O'neils surf shop, but we ended up going to Sears. The board was a total dog, no kicktail and wheels were hard plastic with open bearings. "Lost" it a short time later and got a Pleasure Point Skateboard from the local market. Tracker trucks and Sims Snake II wheels still have it almost 40 years later. Thanks for the memories.

    1. What we really wanted, and what our parents could comprehend about getting something that would be a source of pride and pleasure? Were in different worlds. I swear the parents were the only thing from keeping us from being cool! "lost" it... ha! good for you!
